Jacott komt uit Suriname en verhuist op negenjarige leeftijd met haar familie naar Nederland, alwaar ze op zeventienjarige leeftijd meedoet aan een talentenjacht, waar ze veel aanbiedingen aan overhoudt. Ze stopt met haar studie aan het Hilversumse conservatorium en begint haar loopbaan bij The Vips en orkesten als The Skymasters, het VARA-Dansorkest en het Metropole Orkest.
