Members: Jake Harrington, Derrick Huskey, Matt Benne, Jesse Berlin, Ryan Cheney   Have you ever met a band that took the stage and you could feel the heartache and anguish they have felt throughout their lives. Being played out like a story in front of your eyes. A band that has come together for one dream: to let the world know they are going to be a band that sets the stage on fire, leaving a fire burning in the soul of every fan. Fivefold is a band to be looking for in the year to come. They have played with: Hurt, Brookroyal, Killer Me Killer You, The New Transition, and have played at Pointfest three times. They play in venues in the St. Louis Metro area like: Pop’s, Cicero’s, Firebird, The Pageant, and the Creepy Crawl. But not only are they making themselves known in the metro area, they now want to expand.   The band started five years ago when members: Derrick Huskey, Matt Benne, Jesse Berlin, and Ryan Cheney found each other and decided to start a band. Then in 2010, Jake Harrington joined the band and later filled a position left vacant when Jesse Berlin passed away earlier this year in January. After going through a few bass players, they found their match with Ryan Pauk.   This year they are releasing their new record ‘The Story.’ They named it ‘The Story’ after a close friend by the name of Jim Story who was diagnosed with ALS. This record is dedicated to him and his family because he was always good to the band and pushed them to keep going. They see this record as a way to express who they are and what they have experienced. They were trying to make every song tell a story that could be shared with the world.   The band may be professional with their careers, but during their down time, they are just a group of guys having a great time. Known for inside jokes, playful games, and making each other make their way through home-made obstacles. Keeping their spirits high and not being too serious with one another. But they are guys, so they do enjoy pizza, tacos, burgers, and candy. They spend a lot of time together and they do not only consider themselves a business, but also a family.   When it comes down to it, they are a group of five guys with a dream and a lot of talent and determination to get themselves where they want to be. They like to say that they ‘Work tired. Play hurt. Love Hard.’ Meaning they work hard for what they do and have a ton of fun while doing it.
