I'm a wild quarter stallion

But it's my natural demand

To have a human companion who reads my mind

Who can truly comprehend

My untamed prideful spirit

Isn't really made to bear

Any kind of repression against my will

You may treat me

Firmly but fair

When the horseman whispers my name

I can hear his call and keep on running

When we ride in the sun our hearts beat as one

I trust him whatever may come

I'm grazing in the meadow

A young Navajo is coming near

I keep staring at him without moving at all

But this time I have no fear

He shows his hands kind and slowly

But he won't touch me for some time

It is me who gets finally closer to him

I hope this boy will be a friend of mine

When the horseman whispers my name

I can hear his call and keep on running

When we ride in the sun our hearts beat as one

I lay my life in his hands

I want him to understand

Let him know I'm his friend

He's the best horse you can desire

With grace beauty spirit and fire

For his horseman he would do everything

Kind and humble he rides like the wind
