Mikal Blue

By age fourteen, I knew pretty much every lyric, chord, melody and harmony to every Beatles' song. My obsession with music inspired me to pursue a music career at an early age. By sixteen, I was playing the tough North East of England club circuit. My original band was recognized as the youngest band to make the final four of the televised "Band of the North" competition. After graduating The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, I left England for a solo tour. After performing primarily in the Greek Islands and Austrian Alps, I decided to pursue a career in the United States. I eventually settled in Aspen, Colorado, forming a band that became the resident band at the infamous China Club. During this time, I signed my record deal with Alesis after winning first place in their nationwide song contest with my composition "Only One". I eventually formed another band "Opium" and signed to A&M Records. After Seagram purchased A&M, our A&R was replaced. I then joined forces with "Porno for Pyros" Peter DiSteffano. Together we formed the band "15Mg" and signed yet another recording agreement with Immergent Records. Peter and I created yet another band, "My Enemy Death" with band mates Corby Jordan and Justin Knox. I am currently enjoying producing other artists and have gained tremendous experience from working with my very talented colleagues Curt Schneider (Five For Fighting) and Corky James (The Matrix Production Group). My love of collecting vintage musical instruments and recording gear grew into a recording studio called “Revolver Recordings” located just north of Los Angeles in Westlake Village, CA. I’ve worked with artists such as Five For Fighting, Augustana, OneRepublic, The Offspring, Gary Jules, Carrie Underwood, Brendan James, Angel Taylor, Kevin Hammond, Hope, Colbie Caillat, as well as a plethora of others.
