Onyay Pheori

Onyay Pheori is a vocalist, violinist, song writer, producer, recording & performing artist and actress based out of Los Angeles, CA. In January 2016 her self-titled 7 song EP will be released, featuring a cover of Coldplay's X & Y. In early 2016 she will also be releasing 2 EPs with her alt rock band, Sky Mansion. Onyay writes and produces music for film, tv, trailers and commercials. She also collaborates with inspiring artists, producers and publishers in a range of genres for film and television as well. She has had multiple domestic and international placements, including the trailer for the video game Devil May Cry 4 special addition, Satisfaction on the USA Network, the theme song for HDNET Movies, the official NBC trailer for the romantic comedy A to Z, promos for Greys Anatomy in Africa, Dash Dolls on E!, multiple spots on MTV's Finding Carter and multiple spots on Stewarts & Hamiltons, an RTL Living Commercial in Germany, spots on ESPN, Entertainment Tonight, multiple placements on Four Weddings and other reality shows as well as international ads/placements in Europe, South America and Asia. In the fall of 2014 Onyay released the EP, No More Waiting, with the title track being the campaign song for Beanpole commercials with Korean star Kim Soo Hyun and the song, Fever, in a Fila ad campaign with the same star. Onyay toured internationally with The Earthharp Collective from 2008-2014 and performed in hundreds of festivals, performing art centers and private events, including The Great Hall in Shanghai for the International Arts Festival in conjunction with the World Expo, La Parroquia for the La Calaca Festival in San Miguel de Allende, TEDx Kansas City, The Wanderlust Festival and performed in the Finals of America's Got Talent, to name a few. She also toured and performed with the world renowned Quixotic Fusion. Onyay recorded violin on a bonus track for Grammy winning Herbie Hancock's "The Imagine Project" and shot a music video, “Visitation”, with a mystical and environmental theme, which appeared in the Portraits Assignment at Flatbed Press in Austin, Texas. She also wrote and recorded "The World is Ready" with Grammy winning producer, Jeff Bova, that was used in the tck tck tck campaign's International celebrity PSA raising awareness for climate change. Onyay has appeared in over 40 roles on stage and screen with an array of independent shorts and films in the festival circuit over the years. Onyay began a 7 Year Quest called 33 Muses in 2005 when she started traveling to sacred sites opening up to the mysteries and frequencies beyond this world. At each site crowds gathered transfixed by her sound and she began understanding how to share these experiences through music and multi-media performance. Since 33 Muses’ inception, she has journeyed deep into the Amazonian Rainforest and ascended high into the Andes of Peru and Ecuador, explored the Mayan Ruins of Mexico, the Temples and Pyramids of Egypt, the Caves and Ruins of Crete and Greece, the castles and mountains of Southern France, the temples and jungles of Bali and Java as well as sacred and natural places in over 31 countries including Chile, Ireland, Indonesia, South Africa, India and New Zealand. Her process involves a receptivity and communication with the sounds and memories held in these places, translating them through her voice and violin as a sonic shapeshifter, becoming more human and more than human simultaneously.
