골목길의 어디에나 있었던 우리들의 모습을 다시 그려본다. 이별을 후회하며 아쉬웠던 모습을 지우고, 좋았던 모습으로 다시 고쳐 그려본다. '그때 해야 했던 말'은 아직 잊지 못한 연인과의 추억을 그려보며 결국 떠나지 못한 마음을 담았다. 일년 늦게 오는 편지에는 살짝 잊을 뻔 했던 그날의 감성이 고스란히 남아있다. 이처럼 이별 뒤에도 늦은 편지처럼 나 혼자 그날의 그 감정에서 벗어나지 못했다는 아쉬움을 표현했다. '홍창우' 감성적이면서도 차분한 음색을 통해 이별의 후회를 다그치듯 고조되는 감정을 고스란히 담아냈다.
