Hearts beating like our blood wouldn't know to flow

And there were all these things that came up

We faded like your makeup

Or a pair of brand new clothes

That's how the story goes

The sun might never rise

On the streets today

So night will never stop

And the temperature just drops

But in the covers of our darkness

Our love is running form the cops

Running from the cops

Been holding on for long enough

My poets are all ghost turn into dust

So we invented our own words

Nobody knew their meaning except for us

What's written on a page

Should rise up but fades with age

And always starts to rust

I never read what's been written about us

And you know it as well as me

That winter lasts too long

I still find myself talking to you when you're gone

I still haven't forgot and I hope I never stop
