Jelly Roll Morton
31 Followers美国爵士乐作曲家、钢琴家。原名费迪南德 约瑟夫 莱蒙特（Ferdinand Joseph Lemott）。1890年10月20日出生于新奥尔良。12岁时就在新奥尔良 Storyville 的妓院演奏钢琴。1904-1917年间，在美国南方流浪，巡回钢琴表演，时而以赌博、台球、拉皮条等业作辅助收入，还当过游泳池清洁工、小歌舞剧丑角。1917-1922年至西海岸演奏，后在芝加哥得到巨大的发展。1923年之后，开始为杰奈特唱片公司（Gennett Recording Company） 录制唱片，取得很好的成绩。不久他组建了 Red Hot Peppers 乐队，在 RCA 唱片公司留下一系列优秀的录音。1928年迁至纽约，继续为 RCA 录音，一直到1930年。他编排的《黑底跺脚舞曲》（Black Bottom Stomp）、《祖父的咒语》（Grandpa's Speels）、《爵士博士》（Doctor Jazz）等，曾风靡一时。
