吉米史考特(Jimmy Scott)，1925年7月17日出生在美国俄亥俄州。在五十、六十年代以传统流行歌、爵士、节奏蓝调等演唱走红的歌手，虽然曾与蓝调歌手Ruth Brown、Big Maybelle等人合作过，但是他始终坚持深情爵士歌调的表演路线，令乐迷印象格外深刻。 在历经二十年辉煌的演唱之后，他在七十至八十年代末卻像被遗忘似的沉寂下来。直到1989年吉米史考特获R&B协会颁发他终身成就奖后，九一年华纳唱片的制作人Seymour Stein找她并与公司签了五张唱片合约才又开始再度走红。
