현상록, 녹음 [노른자의]


세상에는 이해할 수 없을 것만 같은 것들이 참 많습니다.
우린 이런 것들을 보편적으로는
역설, 오류, 패러독스나 특이점 정도로 여깁니다.

하지만 때론 반대의 극치에 서야만이
이해와 기록의 정확성을 높이는 것 같습니다.

그래서 그런건지는 모르겠지만
읽고 나서야 보이는 가치들이 매우 많습니다.
향수로 표현이 가능할 것 같네요.

생각보다 빠르게 찾아온 이 음반은

대환장하게 된
저희의 첫번째 현상록입니다.

세상에는 이해할 수 없을 것만 같은 것들이 참 많습니다
우린 보통 이런 걸 역설, 패러독스 쯤으로 여기곤 하구요

하지만 때론

반대편의 극치에 있는 사람이야말로
그 반대에 서있는 자신과
자신의 이상에 대해 정확히 기록하고 표현할 수 있는 것 같습니다
어젯밤이 차가웠기에 그 다음날 온기에 대해 뜨겁게 예찬할 수 있는 것처럼 말이죠

또 그래서인지는 모르겠지만
우리는 잃고 나서야
가치를 알게 되는 것들이 매우 많습니다
향수 같은 것인데
이게 과하면 본인의 과거와 미래에 대한 추론에
잡아 먹힐 때도 많습니다

생각보다 빠르게 찾아온 이 음반은
또 한번의 선택이고, 그 안에 다시한번 저를, 저희를 
모든 현상을 있는 그대로 남기고자 했습니다.

아직 태어나기도 전인 노른자가 세상이 어떨지 보고
태어남을 선택할 수 있게
삶의 양면을 사소하게 담으며 마주하다
대 환장하게 된 
저희의 첫번째 현상록입니다.
(그리고 녹음의 두번째 정규…)


There are countless things in this world that seem impossible to understand.
We often call them paradoxes.

Yet sometimes,
it is those who stand at the furthest edge
who can most clearly record and express
themselves and their ideals—

just as one can fervently praise the warmth of the day
only because the night before was bitterly cold.
Perhaps that's why
we come to recognize the value of so many things
only after they are lost.
Like nostalgia—

which, when it grows too strong,
can devour our sense of the past and the future alike.
This album, arriving sooner than expected,
is yet another choice—

an attempt to leave ourselves,
and everything we’ve experienced, untouched and unaltered.
Like an unborn yolk, glimpsing the world
and choosing whether to be born—

We sought to capture the dual faces of life,
only to find ourselves delightfully overwhelmed.
This is Phenomenonlog,
our very first record.
