Drowning Pool的首张专辑Sinner给人们一个惊奇。四个小伙子在衬页的照片就好象这是是一个90年代末兴起的专门唱rap的乐队，但从音乐上来说他们比其他人更出色。主唱Dave Williams的确拥有过人的嗓音，在多样性和令人为之振奋的音域方面更胜其他同行。歌曲的旋律变化多样，尖叫声的音量一点也不比Ozzfest音乐节人群的呼喊声差。Drowning Pool把Korn和Tool的音乐相结合，但从主音上来说更主要的是向Tool靠拢。专辑其他方面流畅而完美，就象是在是按照事前计划去实施一样。Sinner中加入大量吉他riff，伴以流行和舞曲的旋律。
