UNORTHODOX PARAGRAPH

With their last live album being fifteen years old and their current line-up being the strongest yet, Saber Tiger decided to record a brand new live album during the tour for their brand new box set 'Halos And Glare'. Since that box set contained their three most recent albums 'Decisive', 'Messiah Complex' and 'Bystander Effect', the setlist is made up largely of tracks from these albums, resulting in a powerful and highly dynamic live album. Saber Tiger has experienced a creative rebirth this decade and 'Live: Halos And Glare' is the ultimate proof that the material is just as strong in the live setting as it is on the albums. 'Live: Halos And Glare' also marks the arrival of bassist hibiki as an official band member after recording 'Bystander Effect' with the band as a session musician. 'Live: Halos And Glare' was recorded at Tokyo's Space Odd at August 5th, 2017 and is accompanied by a live dvd directed by Takayuki Yamada, who is also responsible for recent videos of Loudness, Anthem and Outrage.

Live: HALOS AND GLARE

Preceded by the dynamic and intense Hate Crime single, Saber Tiger's 2012 album 'Messiah Complex' was highly anticipated. In terms of style, the album takes all the elements that made its successful predecessor 'Decisive' (2011) so good and turns them up a little more. More solo trade-offs between guitarists Yasuharu Tanaka and founding member Akihito Kinoshita, more complex rhythms by drummer Yasuhiro Mizuno and bassist Takanobu Kimoto and more of the strong narrative in the band's well-written English lyrics, passionately delivered by Takenori Shimoyama. The success of 'Messiah Complex' allowed Saber Tiger to enhance its already admirable reputation in the concert circuit. Many of the songs on 'Messiah Complex' are still live staples, including the heavy stomper Push, the dramatic The Activist's Creed, the aforementioned Hate Crime and the title track.
