Greenland

I want to go to Greenland

I love to play out in the snow

I'll build myself an igloo

Like a migrant eskimo

Floating on an iceberg

Canoeing down a Fjord

I'd love to spot a polar bear

While fishing with a cord

A land without a curfew

Where all the bars are open

Not a single sign of covid there

Where no angry words are spoken

Geographically part of America

Politically quite European

And fish is on the menu

At the Knud Rasmussen Museum

Oh I'd love to go to Greenland

It must be just like heaven

No traffic jams to deal with

In the mornings at half past seven

I'll find myself a woman

And bring her a bouquet of red roses

I bet they're pretty good in bed

If you don't mind rubbing noses

I hear a voice a calling me

I'll book my one-way trip

Just sit down on the melting icecap

And watch that water drip

I'll say goodbye to Holland

As I watch the sea level rise

Gazing at the northern lights

While I wait my turn to die

Well I want to go to Greenland

I hope it's nice and cold
