'Merry-Go-Round' is the new solo album by English singer-songwriter and harp player Jennifer Crook, recorded in Glasgow by Mark Freegard, and produced by hit songwriter Boo Hewerdine. The album features the glorious vocals of Eddi Reader, a duet with Nashville's Darrell Scott (Robert Plant's Band of Joy), and contributions from top UK musicians: Kevin McGuire (double bass), Andy May (piano) Dorie Jackson (backing vocals), Bethany Porter (cello) and Maclaine Colston (hammered dulcimer). Merry-Go-Round will be released in the UK in July 2011. Described by Acoustic Magazine as "spellbinding", Jennifer's unique blend of contemporary folk, pop, and Americana is delightfully difficult to pigeonhole. Since reaching the finals of the BBC Radio 2 Young Tradition Awards Jennifer has toured throughout Britain and Europe performing with many artists and bands including a recent major tour with Snow Patrol. Her first solo album 'A Few Small Things' was hailed by Maverick as "a remarkable CD" with songs that according to Musician"will touch a nerve with many a soul and certifies Jennifer’s status as a talent with a white light future".
