We've just completed our new CD! From the double-time opener "Run For Cover" to the building, epic solo section of "Falling Down," to the super funky "Some Fantastic," the music is energetic and fresh. “We tried to get a live feel when we recorded these songs,” says low-slung guitarist/lead vocalist Lonnie Richard. “We knew we had a good take when the hairs on our arms would stand up, and you didn’t even have to say anything. We’d just look at each other and know ‘That’s it. That’s the one!’ We were going for something that hits you deep in the gut, rather than some cerebral thing.” “We definitely went for a lot of different vibes on each of the songs, ” says thunderfooted drummer/backing vocalist Mike Martino. ‘Run For Cover,’ with its bombastic feel is completely different from ‘Fools,’ which is very psychedelic, yet they both have the thing people are calling ‘The Space Sharks’ sound. It has a lot of texture with a driving force behind it.” Part of that driving force is the newest member of the band, bassist Bob Bergeron. Lon explains “Bob and I have known each other since we were teenagers; our girlfriends were best friends, and we always talked about bands and music, much to the chagrin of our chicks,” he laughs. “Mike and I had some success over the years, especially with our last project Greenhouse Effect “Smokin’” selling CDs in different countries, but things really clicked musically when Bob joined the band last year. He kicked things up a notch. He’s a melodic madman and probably the loudest bassist I’ve ever heard! We have a blast, and the power-trio thing really kicks into full-gear.” Mastered by Jonathan Wyner, whose legendary work graces the albums of David Bowie, Aimee Mann, Aerosmith and many more, this CD jumps from the speakers.
