山羊皮、电台司令、地下丝绒、性手枪，这些名字都深深镌刻几代摇滚乐迷的集体音乐记忆里。本届上海国际电影节纪录片单元展映的由大牌导演马丁·斯科塞斯担任监制的《“感恩而死”的漫长旅程》，将把乐迷的记忆牵回上世纪中期。马丁说：“感恩而死不只是一个乐队，他们是自己的星球，被无数粉丝拥戴。能加入这部电影，我非常荣幸。” 马丁·斯科塞斯将监制一部描写“感恩而死”乐队的纪录片，这支正式组建于1965年的乐队将于明年迎来成立五十周年。而这部电影的导演为执导过纪录片《橄榄球星之死》的埃米尔·巴尔·列维。 “感恩而死”乐队是“迷幻摇滚”开创者之一，他们的音乐从小调到硬摇滚，无所不包。1967年他们参加雷蒙德音乐节之后，被誉为“世界上最好的乐队”。1995年Jerry Garcia去世，乐队宣布解散。“感恩而死”把自由自在的一种音乐形式引入了摇滚乐，他们的音乐表明了他们在不断的发展自己的音乐理想。马丁·斯科塞斯谈到制作这部电影时说“‘感恩而死’不只是一个乐队，他们是自己的星球，被无数粉丝拥戴。能加入这部电影，我非常荣幸。”导演埃米尔也表示“十年前，我就想要把‘感恩而死’拍成电影，现在终于梦想成真了。”而在乐队成员发表的联合声明中，他们也非常高兴能由斯科塞斯来监制这部电影。
