The Southern Oracle

 Ladies and Gentlemen, meet THE SOUTHERN ORACLE. While the name sounds new, the band is the same. Formerly known as Slaughter At The Engagement Party, these five young lads have undergone a member change with the departure of Tamás Kovács and the arrival of the new, maniac guitarplayer that is András Kemény. The members of the band were committed to take their relentless heavy music into new dimensions, while being fundamentally the same band, playing the same heavy music, these extremely talented guys felt a new moniker to their exciting endeavors was due. Currently in the progress of recording their debut album, titled HELLWAKENING, THE SOUTHERN ORACLE have no plans to stop in 2011. After owning the Hungarian underground metal scene in 2010, the band is eager to destroy in 2011. The guys introduced themselves within and over the borders of Hungary supporting acts such as Walls Of Jericho, Carnifex, Suffokate, Veil Of Maya, Trigger The Bloodshed as well as opening a sold out show in Vienna, Austria for none others, but the heavyweight metal/hardcore kings Hatebreed. HELLWAKENING will bring more intensity, more maturity and more heaviness. The debut is highly anticipated among the Hungarian underground scenes and it will feature Mike Schleibaum of Darkest Hour laying off a solo for the track „Bring the Children Home”. THE SOUTHERN ORACLE will present their new name in February, where they play Budapest and Slovenia with one of Europe’s most respected metal/hardcore acts, Cataract. The band will embark on a full Hungarian tour throughout April and May, opening for one of Hungary’s elite metal bands, Subscribe. More plans are in progress. Europe, get ready to rumble!
