Hollywood Fields 歌詞

Hollywood Fields - Martin Stephenson/The Daintees

Composed by:Martin George Stephenson

I'd often see her dream of the hollywood fields

At the back of her factory see her fingers weave

She would slip off her apron and breeze and breeze

Through the hollywood fields through her favourite scenes

See her dance with the women and the men of her day

Perform to children at penned-in play

Through a mesh besetting them they would point and say

Ah look at that mad cow as her workmates gazed

I gripping the wire with tears and snots down my clefts

While the hollywood fields turned a dung filled trench

She'd sing California here I come right back where I started from

These slums to the golden gate a much kinder nicer place

The hills were golden and climate warm

When I witnessed her downfall the bell had not yet gone

The school the factory turned a roman muck

Even the corn mocked as derision struck

I gripping the wire with tears and snots down my clefts

While the hollywood fields turned a dung filled trench

And on her return to the jeering overalls mid her block

Her humiliated back I could barely see

For my tears and my snots

Through the crude wire fence through the hollywood stench

She'd sing California here I come right back where I started from

These slums to the golden gate a much kinder nicer place

California here I come
