And a bear chasin' hound by the name of la roux

On the eastern slope in southwest Colorado

The wild horse did have a look in his eye

Oh he never had known the weight of a saddle

It made him crazy and away did he fly

But the wild horse it lamed him

It turned and it maimed him

Left him lyin' in the dust for dead

Now the stars in the skies

Shown through from his eyes

What the wild horse had left him
