I'd like to take a winter walk today

The sky is gray

And the air

Is as cold as ice cream

In the morning look across the lake

There isn't anything

But at night on the ice

With the traffic lights

The cardinal dreams a song to sing

About the coming spring

And the wind with the headlights circling

Under the stars

Jupiter and Mars

Forgetting who we are

I'd like to take a winter walk tonight

And never talk
