"When we first came into the studio at the end of 2018, I tried to convince the guys that all we had to do was write two or three tracks for the EP," Duran Duran vocalist Simon Le Bon said. "Four days later, when I had a core of over 25 strong songs that all deserved attention, I realized that we would be in the studio for a long time, but that was before Covid." Initially, the musicians planned to release the album in late spring 2020, but then it was decided to postpone the release to autumn 2020.
