24 FollowersJohnnie Ray是乐坛从crooners时期过渡到摇滚时期最伟大的一位歌手。 1927年1月10日出生于俄勒冈州达拉斯。他在幼年时的一次事故中丧失了部份听力。并且从14岁开始配戴助听器。此后，他开始在当地开始以狂野、绚丽的风格歌唱。 这一风格让他得到了世界的认可。他早期的歌，如“cry”，“the little white cloud that cried”让他达到了音乐的顶峰。 1951年歌手LaVern Baker和她的经纪人Al Green帮助他发展他的音乐。同年他同Okeh签署了一份合同。 他开放的双性恋和无视法律，让他在美国逐渐暗淡。但他在英国和澳大利亚依然十分受欢迎。 因为长期吸食毒品、熏酒等生活问题Johnnie Ray于1990年二月逝世。
