Archive乐队于1994年，由伦敦的DJ Darius Keeler和Danny Griffiths组建，以trip-hop和电子风格为开端，最开始，他们将Bristol的Trip Hop与Rap混音。之后，每张专辑都有不同的合作人。虽然Archive是英国乐队，很多评论说他们实际上离英国乐队共有的气质甚远，反而沾染上不少法国派的矫柔造作。Archive乐队最先被人归为Trip Hop，后来又被归入Post Rock，看似风格多变实则很简单---他们比较追求录音室的效果。
