Franck Pourcel出生于法国马赛，七岁开始学习小提琴，后来进入马赛音乐学院与巴黎音乐院接受正规而实的古典音乐教育。毕业后，加入马赛歌剧院弦乐团演出。1942年，他的才华深受当时著名的香颂女歌手露仙妮鲍华叶的赏识，应邀担任她的伴奏乐团指挥，合作时间长达八年之久，终于在1952年，为了圆自己的梦想，他邀集了古典乐圈的50名乐手组成自己的乐团，并灌录了“蓝色探戈”与“聚光灯”两首乐曲，正式踏入乐坛。
