"Materia" is a collaborative album by rapper TORAUMA and beatmaker/rapper Shiso. Shiso has produced many of TORAUMA's signature tracks, including "Tsubaki", Tsubaki 2", "Abyss", "Paranoia", and "Hibikari (feat. Shuuto)". In 2023, the track "Tsubaki" went viral on TikTok, reached No.1 on Billboard JAPAN's Heatseekers Songs chart in June, and its music video surpassed 7 million views. After releasing their previous EP "Arise", named after a full-healing white magic spell, Shiso returned from a period away from music. This album marks their long-awaited reunion. Inspired by their favorite video games, the album was titled "Materia". In those games, Materia are magical orbs that grant abilities when equipped to weapons. They imagined what it would be like if music worked the same way. Each track is made to be something you can "equip" in your own life, offering strength, comfort, or a spark of power in different moments.
