马来魔

PLANTA 是第一个进口马来西亚的植物黄油品牌，算是全马家喻户晓的名字。这款植物黄油品牌是所有马来西亚咖啡店和嘛嘛档各式料理中的必备用料，像是鸡饭，印度煎饼，Ramly 汉堡，甚至几乎所有蛋糕甜点都少不了它。

“ 之前有个网友分享了我被 CASE EAST 采访的纪录片，然后写了 ‘Penang Trap Atlanta Music aka PLANTA’ 这个标体，就这样我开始好奇如果我把槟城家乡风味结合进我的音乐会是一个什么样子，然后我也发现马来西亚华人没人做过这种曲风比较新颖的本土音乐，所以就决定做做看。我想做的不是一个槟城人在玩说唱而已，而是做出一个可以代表我自己和槟城的音乐作品集。”

Planta was the first imported margarine in Malaysia. Everybody in Malaysia knows about it as it is a widely used ingredient in a variety of local kopitiam and mamak cuisines such as Chicken Rice, Roti Canai, Ramly Burgers, and a large selection of cakes, pastries and desserts.

And that got me thinking how’s Penang trap music gonna sounds like? And I realized that there’s no such
music yet so I decided to make one. I’m not talking of Penang Lang making a trap music that doesn’t
sounds like it, I’m thinking of Penang vibe tracks that represents what it stands for. ”

“这EP里的音乐都是我在马来西亚时的2017尾声烦躁的状况做出来的。一边开着我的MYVI，抽着MARLBORO创作出来的。”

这个EP所有元素都只是以一个目标为主，把我认为的马来西亚中文说唱特色尽可能地呈现出来。作为一个多语环境长大的华人，我觉得比较贴切我的马来西亚华人文化，从说话语言，表达方式，生活环境都可以融入我的音乐。在创作这张EP时，我完全没在限制我的语言，想说什么都以脑中先想到的语言为主，毕竟我的环境并不是一个全中文的环境，有些中文甚至不在我们平时的说话范围里，所以没必要限制自己全中文或者只能中英文。这样也算是我强化和鼓励马来西亚华人对于本身文化和身份认可的一个努力，我们讲话的方式就是这样夹杂著不同语言甚至方言啊，我们习惯拜拿督公却穿泰国佛牌，我们和其他地区的华人有着相似但是却完全不一样的文化，我甚至刚开始接触音乐时是听摇滚和金属。那些看似普通却影响我的一切的小细节，也间接影响了我接触音乐和创作时的想法。

简单来说，我想在马来西亚槟城这块孕育我的土地为我说唱音乐的语言，方言甚至腔调找出一条路。

MYVI＋MARLBORO is my way of leaving a mark in Malaysia Chinese hip hop scene.I’m just trying to find a path for my language，dialect，culture and everything that i’ve been blessed with in Penang.The idea of this project，the lyrics and even sound direction of the music was conceptualised in my car.

Every element of this project aims to bring out the distinctive sounds of my Malaysian Chinese rap.I don’t limit my language usage at all，for the first time I just wanna express everything with the 1st language that came into my mind，like it’s a reflex reaction.I don’t rhyme using words that I'm not familiar with.For Malaysian Chinese，some words we just don’t really use it in our environment，we tend to replace it with either Malay，English，Hokkien or Cantonese.That's how we deliver our language and words.Our slang，identity or even our Multi-language way of constructing sentences was really under-appreciated and considered not appealing among most Malaysian Chinese.And I just wanna strengthen and embrace the concept and identity of what and who we are.All the tiny details that makes me and my way of creating music.
