This album is a valuable live sound source left by Hidefumi Toki, the treasure of the Japanese jazz who died in June 2021.
This work records a live performance at <Live Spot RAG> in Kyoto the day before the studio recording of "The Guitar Man" (DOD-009) released in September 2020 featuring guitar legend Kazuhiko Takeda.
The sound of the two legends with the best blues feeling of the time is truly exquisite. With the support of Jun Miyakawa (org) and Shingo Okudaira (ds), we will deliver the best time of mellow and bluesy rising in the relaxed air.

Live at "RAG"

This is an ambitious work by Hidefumi Toki, with a unique organization of "saxophone + 2 guitars". The only sidemen are Ryo Ogihara and May Inoue, the two guitarists who run at the top of the scene. Hidefumi Toki runs lightly on the dynamic groove they create. Please enjoy the unique and original sound.

Hidefumi Toki and Mayuko Katakura, whose "After Dark" (DOD-004) recorded in Taro Okamoto's atelier became a big topic.This work is a record of their live performances. The venue is the jazz club "OurDelight" located in Warabi City, which has a large atrium and is famous for its acoustic sound. Please enjoy the dignified and beautiful dialogue that takes place in a relaxed atmosphere.

One year from previous work "Black Eyes". The new work of Japanese jazz treasure, Hidefumi Toki, is a duo with first-call pianist Mayuko Katakura who will lead the next generation. Recorded in the atelier of Taro Okamoto. In a special place surrounded by special atmosphere, a warm dialogue spreads out between the two.
The album includes standard songs loved by jazz fans, such as "Autumn Leaves", "Black Orpheus" and "Lover Man", and "After Dark", a classic song by Hidefumi Toki. The glamorous and overwhelming tone unique to Hidefumi Toki and the dynamism of Mayuko Katakura who develops it. The sounds they create are full of joy to perform with respect for each other.

色気漂うサックスの名手・土岐英史が新世代の旗手達を率いた、『豪華スリーホーン』のセクステット。ジャズ界のみならず、山下達郎バンドなどポップス界でも絶大な存在感の土岐英史、「大野雄二&ルパンティック・ファイブ」の鈴木央紹、女性トランぺッターとしての人気と実力を確たるものにした市原ひかりという素晴らしいホーン隊。若手世代との交流をもってジャズの継承をしたいという、土岐の純然たる想いが伝わってくる。リズム陣も秋田慎治、坂井紅介、井上功一と近年の土岐の活動には欠かせない強力なメンバーが集った。オリジナルやスタンダードに加え、過去の土岐作品の再演も大きな魅力。

人を酔わす良質な音色と正確なピッチで魅せるアルト・サックスプレイヤー土岐英史。自身のCHIKENSHACK、TOKI&CRUISINGなどの活動はもとより、長きに渡り「山下達郎バンド」にて絶大な信頼を集めたその音は存在感があり、一度聴いたら耳が離せない極上のサウンドだ。故・日野元彦に想いを馳せ、そして土岐英史自身の全てを注入した「THE ONE ～ザ・ワン～」がここに完成！JAZZファンのみならず、ポップスシーンで氏を知る者までが切望していたアルバムの誕生で、「ライブでしか聴けない土岐オリジナルジャズ」が、解き－TOKI－放たれる。
