Singer-songwriter ZIN, a member of the Kansai-based artist collective Soulflex, releases his second single of 2025, titled "Everytime I". The track features sound production by FKD, a beatmaker and producer who has frequently collaborated with ZIN and also serves as his live DJ.

Joining as a guest artist is KOJOE, one of Japan's leading rappers and musicians, who previously teamed up with ZIN and BUPPON on the 2022 album "Scent" under the BUPPON, ZIN & KOJOE moniker.

Built on FKD's minimal, spacious, and bass-heavy beat, the track beautifully blends ZIN's smooth and sultry vocals with KOJOE's rich and alluring vocal performance, resulting in a top-tier R&B song.

Fukuoka-born, Tokyo-based rapper/poet maco marets has released "BURN", the second single to be distributed in advance from his new album, which is scheduled for release this winter.

The track production for this album was handled by DJ/beatmaker FKD, the leader of the creative collective "VIBEPAK", who in addition to providing music and sound design for domestic and international artists, has also worked with Dry Echoes (Hikaru Tanaka x FKD), FIC (FKD, Shun Ishiwaka, Aaron Choulai), Dewy (erie &FKD).

He and maco marets have collaborated on a single "In my eyes", which was released in March this year as stage music for DYM MESSENGERS, a team in the professional dance league D.LEAGUE, and won the league's "MUSIC OF THE YEAR" award, as well as other projects. The two have collaborated on several songs together.

"BURN" combines FKD's bluesy beats with the raw rap of maco marets, who says he was conscious of his "more blunt style than usual". The lyrics, which question one's own way of life, "In the face of violence / I can only shut up", are not only "cozy" but also powerful enough to renew the artist image of the past.

BURN (feat. FKD)

The collaboration track "Done With U" by Soulflex member and singer-songwriter ZIN, and beatmaker FKD, who has also worked on projects such as VIBEPAK and Dry Echoes. The two have previously co-produced songs like "Busy" and "Hokorobi," but this time, they've created a track characterized by sharp, dynamic beats with a floor-friendly feel, perfectly complemented by ZIN's silky vocals. Additionally, an extended version and instrumental are included for DJ use.

Done With U

This is the first album composed entirely of instrumental music by FKD, a beatmaker/producer based in Japan.
It is an album that expresses various "initial impulses" that FKD has experienced in his own activities, and includes not only his roots in HipHop, but also his current musical inclinations in Bass Music, Electoronica, Dance Music in general, and many other genres that he has reconstructed in his own unique interpretation. The album contains many songs, and it is a glimpse of how he further expands his soundscape after numerous initial impulses even from the beginning of his career.
