La Energia Nortena

Based in Dallas, Texas, regional Mexican group La Energia Norteña playromantic norteño music, with accordion and saxophone -- a popularstyle in the Mexican states of Chihuahua and San Luis Potosí. Theyformed in 2010 and played weddings and quinceañeras.In 2011, theywon a local talent contest that paved the way for their commercialrecording debut, the single "Te Recordare" on Fonovisia's AztecaRecords.They continued playing regional fairs -- state, county, and cityand weddings and private parties.They also continued releasingsingles and videos, and contributed tracks to various-artistscompilations, expanding their fan base and popular profile. In 2013, their debut album, Sin Restricciones, was issued by Azteca. ltdidn't chart but it did receive substantialradio playand enabled themto perform a live unplugged concert on television.Their second album2014's Cruzando Territorio, reached number five on the Top LatinAlbums charts.The group began touring the American Southwest andthe northern states of Mexico, drawing larger and larger crowds. In Julyof 2015,theyissued the pre-release single"Me Dejaste Solo,”which peaked in the Top 30 of the Mexican Regional Songs chart, andfollowed it with the album El Rompecabezas, which garnered the bancnot only another charting single in "Malditos Sentimientos" but thenumber two spot on the Mexican Regional Albums charts and a LatinGrammynomination.They toured hard,almost incessantly, until reentering the studio in the spring of2016.The pre-release single "HoyMaTocer Pender" was issued in August and was followed by the albumNo Hay Quinto Malo in late October. La Energia Norteña resumed theirrigorous touring schedule in 2017 and appeared on the compilations 12Romanticas con Sax, Vol.1 and Vol.2. Before year's end, the bandissued a pre-release You Tube video featuring the title track from ElSueño Americano performed live in the street. In March,"Despedidade Soltera" was issued as an official single; it reached number 28 onthe Regional Mexican Airplay charts.The group barnstormed acrossNorth America to prepare the way for the album release. On April 4,two days before El SueÃo Americano was released, La EnergiaNorteña's equipment was stolen from a trailer after a concert in DallasTexas.
