Richard Killmer

In addition to his position of Professor of Bassoon at Oberlin Conservatory, Mr. Sakakeeny holds the title of “Guest Professor of the Central Conservatory of Music” of Beijing, China, and Visiting Professor for Graduate Studies in Bassoon at Simon Bolivar University, Caracas, Venezuela. He is also a faculty memberand director of woodwinds for Interlochen Arts Camp and the Advanced Bassoon Institute at Interlochen each summer. He has twice been invited to teach master classes at International Double Reed Society conferences. In addition he has given numerous solo recitals and taught master classes at leading institutions in the U.S., Asia, and Europe such as the Paris Conservatory, the Tchaikowsky National Music Academy in Kiev, Rice University, and Tokyo University of the Fine Arts. In addition he has performed long term teaching residencies at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, The Central Conservatory of Music, Seoul National University, and the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse of Lyon, France.
