The new track is the band's debut single proper, self-released, and featuring production from Guy Fixsen (My Bloody Valentine, Pixies). Smooshing together intelligent pop motifs, á la Woman's Hour, dreamy navel-glaring waves of FX, and sheer pop sensuality, "Cruel Dusk" marks an exciting stride forwards for Wyldest as they jam their foot in the door for reals. It's a swoony statement of intent, rammed with earworms and nuggets of pure greatness.
