Little Twinkle my Seaside

weekender summer

Summer and suddenly love appears

Every time you cross my mind I can barely breathe

I lose all sense of direction and simply drift

I lock my past loves away in a treasure chest by the shore

and dive deeper and deeper into your ocean

Innocence and desire flow through the heart of summer

Memories of the Sea

THREE1989 releases their new single "Rhythm of Wave." Rooted in city pop and disco influences, the track showcases the band's signature sophisticated groove alongside a "New Nostalgic" atmosphere that evokes a sense of timeless familiarity.

The song was written with Shichirigahama as its setting, a place that vocalist Shohei frequently visited after moving to Tokyo and where he continued to write lyrics over the years. Using the ebb and flow of the waves as a central motif, the track reflects on life's many experiences, including encounters and farewells, passion and resignation, portraying the gradual journey of drawing closer to one's own truth.

What begins as a story about love ultimately evolves into a message that embraces life itself. From "Alone on the beach" to "Hello on the beach," the song captures a transformation in which loneliness and inner conflict are accepted as meaningful rhythms within life. Set against imagery reminiscent of the magic hour at Shichirigahama, "Rhythm of Wave" is a city pop anthem that beautifully portrays the cycles of youth, growth, and the ever-changing journey of life.
