Luis Hermandez

 Luis was born and raised in Puerto Rico. At the age of 21 he decided to start from scratch to study music. Luis was blessed enough to start taking lessons with Freddie Santiago, whose credits are vast and ex tense. Starting from Airto Moreira, Flora Purim, Billy Cobham, Peter Erskine and Vince Mendoza, Giovanni Hidalgo, AldiMeola and Pacco DeLuccia, just to name a few. Luis Hernandez was also fortunate enough to meet and study with Jim Chapin. During his years in college, Luis ended up working in different venues like, Heineken jazz fest, fill in for Freddie itself and finally with Ricky Martin in 2001. In 2003 Luis Hernandez Joined the Armed Forces. Luis served his country as a soldier, where he also worked as a musician in the band field, where he acquired invaluable knowledge. After finishing his contract, he went back to the rough business of music. Luis have been as a session musician and clinician. Luis is developing a teaching concept where he applies physics, ethics and technique all together. In this page you would see HL of recent and past performances.
