292 Followers从1977年推出首张专辑《Talking Head 77》被誉为未来 年最重要的音乐作品那一刻起，再没有人对崛起于New Wave时期的超级乐队Talking Heads的经典地位有所质疑。该团于1975年由来自罗德岛的四人组成，身怀绝技的团员每个均堪称一时之选，对音乐更各有独当一面的实力：主唱David Bryne致力于摇滚与民族音乐的融合，曾发表多张实验作品及叁与电影配乐的制作，更成立了自己的音乐厂牌Luaka-Bop，为美国最具前瞻艺术眼光的流行乐先驱之一；吉他／键盘手Jerry Harrison除发表个人专辑外，更为人作嫁，为知名的音乐制作人与摇滚乐手；女贝斯手Tina Weymouth及鼓手Chris Frantz甚至在团期间就已另组了以结合摇滚乐及非洲音乐节奏为其主要特色的Tom Tom Club，并为知名电影Siesta制作配乐。
