法国钢琴家,父母是德国人,1911年在汉诺威音乐学院莱梅(Leimer)班上学琴,第一次世界大战时,曾服兵役,战后开始巡回演奏,成为世界闻名的钢琴家.二次世界大战爆发后,吉泽金依然在德国及占领区内演奏,战争结束后,因有协助纳粹的嫌疑曾受盟军调查,1947年才重返舞台.1949年到美国巡回演出,因又有人控告他与纳粹合作,不得不取消演出,经德国联邦法院澄清,1953年才恢复演奏权利.吉泽金因受法国和德国音乐教育的双重影响,对这两国的作品都有深入的体会.他灵敏透明的指触和细致的音色变化加上微妙的踏板控制,使他成为阐释德彪西与拉威尔的权威.吉泽金一直追求清淡的表情,在演奏中强音都处理得很轻巧,他演奏的莫扎特也极有味道.
