61 Followers1968年10月生于西安。有人说他是中国最寂寞的歌手，因为他从小四处飘泊流浪，有人说听他的歌特别感伤，因为歌声浑厚苍茫。他大部份歌曲创作的时候都是走在路上。 10岁那年第一次离家出走，17岁考入大学，后又辍学。 1987年只身来到北京。 1988年录制了早期作品《西出阳关》，《bopomofo》等歌。 1991年参加《中国火I》的录音，唱出那首广为流传的《姐姐》。 1993年，张楚与中国火合作录制个人专辑，同时，1988年的作品以《一颗不肯媚俗的心》为名发行专辑，这对其新专辑造成一些不良影响。
