Ike Quebec 1918年出生于新泽西州，Ike Quebec的萨克斯风不任性，也不爱玩炫技，但也绝非中规中矩或是呆板失神，他那感性流畅的萨克斯仿佛是夜晚浓重的呼吸，充满摇摆的韵味，足以吸引你的每个听觉细胞。在Ike开始用萨克斯风演绎生命旋律前曾是一个钢琴手，而事实证明他选择萨克斯风更为正确。除了作为一个谦虚的次中音萨克斯风手效力于蓝音公司外，他还是一个出色的伯乐，除Dexter Gordon外，Thelonious Monk和Bud Powell也是因为他的发掘而带入Blue Note旗下。由于吸毒，Ike于50年代少有作品问世，直到60年代初重回蓝音公司，发行了脍炙人口的《Blue And Sentimental》，对于很多乐迷来说，1961年的作品是Ike在Blue Note中最好的表现。
