Thomas Beecham
2 Followers比彻姆(Thomas Beecham 1897-1961)英国指挥家，早年就学于罗尔萨学校和牛津大学，从小便自学音乐。1898年19岁首次登台指挥哈莱乐团，获得成功。1909年30岁创建“比彻姆交响乐团”，1920年指挥了一系列歌剧的演出，奠定了他在英国指挥界的地位。1929年，他在伦敦创办“迪利亚斯音乐节”，1932年起创建了伦敦爱乐乐团，亲自担任这个乐团首席7年。1946年又创建了皇家爱乐乐团，担任了15年这个乐团的常任指挥，因此而被称为“英国交响乐团之父”。比彻姆是一位即兴性极强的指挥家，他强调表情与音乐的感染力，他被称为“海顿交响曲的指挥专家”。实际上他对标题性作品的解读常常胜于无标题作品。除对埃尔加、戴留斯等英国作曲家的诠释是权威之外，对比才、西贝柳斯、理查?斯特劳斯的解读也极具特色。
