袁中平，于出生1959年，台北人，纽约琴社创办人。启蒙琴学于台北孙毓芹，受业琴学于苏州吴兆基，并拜纽约张隆延学习书法。从事作曲创作，曾获台湾最佳作曲金鼎奖。目前定居纽约市东村，创立纽约琴社和指禅艺术中心。袁中平携琴走天涯墨里弦间琴德合一。
