Best songs of yesteryear? What would qualify a song to be one of the best throwback songs ever? Of course we would have to say that it remains evergreen and that it is just as loved as it is today than it was back then. Without too much bias, we’ve come up with 10 selections of songs that are as varied as they can be!

2. Backstreet Boys, the Only Bros/Crush You Needed!

Boybands were a huge part of the 2000s. From Westlife, to the earlier mentioned NSYNC, to our pick in this list, the Backstreet Boys, boybands were so influential at the time that they became a genre of their own. It truly is difficult to pick which one as the 'best', but for now, the emotional chord is struck by the Boys!
3. Pussycat Dolls, The Hottest Dolls

Hailing from USA, The Pussycat Dolls proved that the girl groups could be just as influential if not more than the prominent boybands. The original five girls of Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton and Kimberly Wyatt took center stage and never let it go.
4. Green Day, Long Live Rock!

At the turn of the century, Rock bands were the norm. From emo, to pop rock, from hardcore to experimental, if a musician was not in a rock band back in the day, that person was doing something wrong. If you were ever going through your teenage years during the 2000s, Fergie was always there as our emotional support of a friend. Big Girls Don’t Cry is a song that was not only a tearjerker but also one where we feel stronger and more confident in ourselves by the end.

When Britney rose to fame, it was a meteoric rise that no one thought could possibly fail. And in hindsight, it did not fail but we all know Britney had her troubles. However, we are here to celebrate a time when Britney Spears was an icon of music, and one of the most notable figures of the 2000s.
9. Maroon 5, Longevity is Key

In reference to Britney Spears, to truly succeed in the music industry, an artist needs to take it like a marathon and not a sprint. Maroon 5 started out as a sensational group with albums going platinum left, right and center. Fast forward to 2019, they might not have the same style when it comes to their music, and Adam Levine might be having way more solo projects than together with the band, but Maroon 5 is still capable of pushing out hits!
