And the word that is most needed for this generation.

I completely put myself into this process — my love, my joy, my passion — but sometimes I had to face my own madness along the way.

I can’t say that I found the perfect meaning of “Quintessence”, but my journey in searching for it became the path that shaped this album.

One thing that is clear to me is that it already exists inside of me, and also inside of you.
Through this process, I may discover the answer on the next page.

It may just seem like music, but it could be something beyond that.
I hope that one day you will find it within yourself too.

TAEYANG's second EP ALBUM [Down to Earth], which captures his sincere personal story, has been released.

'VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS)' was released in January of this year and reestablished TAEYANG's unparalleled identity.

TAEYANG partook in the entire process of creating the EP ALBUM [Down to Earth], which includes various musical genres such as ballads, hip-hop, and soul which capture his personal stories to the fullest.

[Down to Earth] emcompasses diverse colors of the sunset as well as the nightfall, which allows listeners to sense TAEYANG's growth and maturity.

[Artist's Note]

This album comes from various emotions and inspirations that I felt underneath my skin as I gazed at the sunset.

The sunset, which decorates a day’s end, welcomes the dark night and not a new morning.

Just like the sunset, my world is colored with beautiful memories of the past,
but what came back to me was the ceaseless night that followed.
Thus, I began to realize that the image of myself over the past 6 years was not much different than the sunset.

In a way, I was deeply touched and felt relief by the silent sunset and how it greets the night,
fulfilling its role in the most beautiful way possible.

The repetitive and burdensome times that I could not overcome alone
naturally guided me 'back to the drawing board.'
Thus, this album allowed me to capture my heart that was ready to jump back up into a fresh new start.

I, now, have a glimpse of an understanding
that the prior experiences and stages of my life were indeed necessary
as I prepare to open this new chapter of my life.

Thankfully, I became more humble for this new beginning
and I would gladly lower myself even more to greet this moment.
This album is also an outcome for my cherished relationships with those
who stood by my side and gave me that extra push.

To the producers and staff members at THEBLACKLABEL, who offered me a new home and a new nest, and to my fans, who waited all this time without any guarantees, I want to express my infinite gratitude.

In hopes that this album and music become a little seedling
and one day turn into a healthy tree

‘2018 평창 동계올림픽’ 홍보대사로 위촉된 빅뱅 태양이 신곡 ‘LOUDER’를 오는 10일 낮 12시에 발표한다. 
‘LOUDER’는 이번 동계올림픽의 성공적인 개최를 바라는 마음과 더불어 ‘우리 모두 힘차게 소리치자’는 메시지를 담은 곡이다. 
‘LOUDER’는 록과 팝을 적절히 접목시켜 대중성과 음악성을 동시에 챙겼다. 시원하게 터지는 후렴구가 인상적이며, 멜로디컬 기타 사운드와 태양의 진심을 담은 파워풀 보컬이 돋보이는 곡이다. 
‘LOUDER’에는 더블랙레이블 소속 프로듀서들인 테디와 R.Tee, Joe Rhee, 24 등이 참여해 음악성을 높였다. 태양의 3집 ‘WHITE NIGHT’에서 최상의 호흡을 보였던 이들이기에, 이번에는 어떤 시너지를 낼지 기대되는 상황이다.

彰显强大存在感的TAEYANG即将推出准备已久的第三张正规专辑“WHITE NIGHT”。

 TAEYANG表示，希望通过新专辑“WHITE NIGHT”，呈现出更加坚固的音乐世界观和艺术性，以及自己的音乐风格。 TAEYANG不仅作为BIGBANG的成员，还作为SOLO歌手，不断谋求成长，为打造高品质“WELL MADE ALBUM”做出了不懈努力。

BIGBANG成员太阳携新专辑《RISE》正式回归，专辑共9首歌曲。
预告封面中太阳打开翅膀般伸展的双臂，配合异国风情的背景以及光滑且线条分明的背部曲线。画面中的太阳脱去上衣，悠闲地走在他乡的街道，给人带来自由奔放的感觉。

6월. 따뜻한 봄을 지나 햇살이 점점 뜨거워지는 이때, 그 열기에 박차를 가할 또 하나의 태양이 떠오를 준비를 하고 있다. 눈부시고, 강렬하며, 화려하게 빛을 뿜어내던 BIGBANG의 태양. 무대 위의 존재만으로 눈부시고, 그의 퍼포먼스는 모두를 열광하게 했다. 하지만 이번에 떠오르는 태양은 좀 다르다. 아니 특별하다. 특유의 화려함을 덜어낸 채 자신의 진심을 표현했고, 뜨거운 퍼포먼스를 보여주기보다 한 소절 노래와 목소리에 더 큰 힘을 실었다. 
지금까지의 태양의 모습에서 많은 것을 덜어냈지만 그래서 더 눈부시다. 가만히 노래하지만 어느 때보다 강렬하다. 바로 태양의 본질. 진정성이 담긴 음악을 고스란히 이번 앨범에 담았기 때문이다. 태양의 지난 4년간의 치열한 노력과 열정. 그 정수를 이번 앨범 ‘RISE’에 담았다.

첫 정규앨범 ‘Solar’이후 4년 만인 태양은 오랜 기간 작업에 공을 들여왔다. 최근까지도 자신의 SNS에 해외 유명 가수들과의 작업 소식을 전하며 기대를 높여왔다. 국내 음원 사이트는 물론 아이튠즈 차트에서도 5개국 1위를 차지했던 ‘링가 링가’ 가 바로 그 신호탄이었다.

2014 YG의 세 번째 주자인 태양. 세상을 비출 준비는 끝났다. 이번 정규앨범 ‘RISE’는 타이틀곡인 ‘눈, 코, 입’을 필두로 ‘새벽한시’, ‘버리고’, ‘이게 아닌데’ 등 이전에 화려했던 모습들이나 비주얼적인 측면이 부각된 것이 아닌 한층 힘을 뺀 느낌의 곡들로 이루어져 있다. 

그동안 파워풀한 퍼포먼스로서의 기량을 맘껏 뽐냈다면, 이번 앨범에서는 보컬리스트로 변신해 아티스트로서 그가 갖고 있는 음악에 대한 진정성을 보여준다. 목소리는 훨씬 더 풍부해지고 다채로워졌다. 특유의 그루브 있는 창법과 감성은 팬뿐만이 아니라 누가 들어도 그 만의 소울을 느끼게 한다. 
오랜 시간 심혈을 기울여 준비한 만큼 “4년이란 시간이 지금의 음악을 만나기 위한 긴 여행 같았다.” 라고 태양은 말한다.

LA에서 촬영된 티저영상과 자켓은 태양이 갖고 있는 느낌을 있는 그대로 가감 없이 보여준다. 음악적으로 완성된 진한 소울에 흑백의 모노톤으로 연출된 영상과 사진은 과장된 색감의 그 무엇보다 태양만의 색들로 채워져 컬러풀해 보였으며, 태양 특유의 아우라는 절제된 섹시미와 진정성을 보여준다.

새롭게 떠오르는 또 다른 태양. 세상 어디에나 태양이 비치듯, 그의 이번 앨범도 사람들의 마음 곳곳에 뜨겁게 비출 것이다. 햇살 아래 눈을 감 듯 자연스럽게 태양의 목소리를 느껴 볼 때다.
