"I think the hardest kind of relationship is the one where you can't say 'I like you.'"

So says Toya Takase.
This track, "Mou Iiya," is a co-written piece by Toya Takase and Matsuri, marking Matsuri's re-debut.

The starting point of the song came from nearly 1700 voice memos that Matsuri had accumulated over time.
From countless fragments capturing everyday emotions, a single phrase became the trigger, through which Takase began to shape the outline of the song.

"There was a moment when something that existed only as a point turned into a line. That feeling was where this song began."

The theme centers on an ambiguous relationship, more than friends, but less than lovers.
Within a distance that continues without ever exchanging defining words, the song portrays emotions that keep growing, while the feelings themselves slowly lose their place.

"You keep telling yourself, 'I'm glad we're just friends,' but in reality, that's the hardest part. It's about carrying that contradiction, unable to escape from it."

The title "Mou Iiya" carries more than simple resignation.

"It might sound like giving up, but it's not that simple. It's more like a word you tell yourself to come to terms with something you know can't be changed. In a way, it's closer to a decision."

Regarding Matsuri's vocals, Takase explains that he intentionally preserved a sense of "incompleteness."

"Rather than technical perfection, we prioritized the emotion that could only exist in that moment. Even the slight instability you hear, that's part of the song's reality."

Additionally, this work was created not merely as a producer-artist relationship, but as a true collaboration.

"More than producing, I feel this track naturally came together as a co-creation."

The wavering emotions within an undefined relationship, and the will to break free from it,
"Mou Iiya" captures both at once, presenting a raw, unfinished reality as it is.

'Please Miss Me'
is a song about heartbreak,
a song about farewell,
and at the same time, a song about beginnings.

For Fumiya Sato, this track marks his debut single.
For Takase Toya, it represents the first step in presenting an artist to the world as a fully produced project-the beginning of a new chapter as a producer.

Their relationship goes far beyond that of simple collaborators.
During the COVID era, when music was easily labeled 'non-essential,'
they never let go of it.
Instead, they held onto music-and to each other-supporting one another's lives as long-time best friends.

In 2020, under Takase Toya's former name,
the two collaborated on 'Please kiss me like a diary.'
Six years later, their names meet again'but this time,
it's no longer about nostalgia.

With 'Please Miss Me,'
this is not a reunion of best friends,
but a declaration of the birth of Fumiya Sato as an artist.

The song is filled with callbacks to their past works-
answers hidden in plain sight for those who have been listening all along,
and at the same time, a self-reference to the years they've spent walking together.

'An ending is a beginning.'
This phrase goes beyond the beauty of a simple breakup song.
Losing someone, reaching an end-
all of it becomes a passage that expands the scale of one's life.
That is the intention woven into this song by Takase Toya.

The word 'miss'means to long for someone,
but it also means absence.
Yet the absence depicted here is not emptiness.
It is space-
a margin left open for the next story to begin.

Beyond friendship,
facing each other now as producer and artist,
the two pour their lives into the very first sound they release together.

RINZO

Numa Koi is a remix EP in which Takase Toya revisits his previously released songs, reconstructing them together with longtime collaborator and trackmaker RINZO.
Rather than adding new narratives, the project was created to reexamine the emotions and temperatures left within the original works, reorganized through a present-day perspective.

Romantic feelings inevitably change over time.
Memories become blurred, events are unconsciously edited,
yet the emotions from that period remain-lingering with an inexplicable weight.
This EP focuses on those feelings that were never fully resolved.

In approaching these remixes, the priority was not structural reinvention or excessive ornamentation.
Instead, the goal was to preserve the emotional core of the original songs,
while intensifying their sense of stagnation, inescapability, and the pull that makes one return to them repeatedly.

The title Numa Koi (Swamp Love) does not suggest affirmation or denial of love.
It represents a decision to leave unresolved emotions as they are,
without forcing them into clear explanations or conclusions.

Listeners are not expected to find definitive answers within this EP.
If, after the music fades, a subtle emotional residue remains,
that lingering sensation itself reflects the essence of this work.

Ten years ago, Toya Takase wrote a song and left a note to himself:
"When the time comes to take a real leap, I'll release this one."

the long-kept track has taken form as "Climber."

The title "Climber" represents anyone who continues to ascend,

In November 2024, TAKASE TOYA returned to what he calls his "second home" - Hong Kong - for a landmark two-day solo concert at the largest venue of his career in the city, the Kitty Woo Stadium Tang Po.

The "Ai'll TOUR in Hong Kong" was a heartfelt tribute to the city that gave him his start as a reverse-import artist.
