The title track ‘Pray (I’ll be your man)’ will show fabulous vocal skills with powerful performance, and now it’s ready to come back with 9th mini album, [NEW MEN]
Last Spring, BTOB have success for being a ‘Healing-dol’ with ‘Remember That’, the title track of 8th mini album, and they finally came back in seven months with 9th mini album, [NEW MEN]. Especially, the title track ‘Pray (I’ll be your man)’, you’ll meet BTOB’s new attractive looks which you’ve never seen before. In addition, all of the BTOB members participated in songwriting of the overall tracks and showed their passion into this album. The fan song, ‘YEJIAPSA (I loved you in the past, I love you now and I'm going to love you in the future)’, which is member’s dedication song to all fans, is also included.
The title track, ‘Pray (I’ll be your man)’ is an emotional dance music with trap beats, showing off BTOB’s new style transformed into sexy men, which is very different with member’s previous looks used to sing ballad music. The song tells a story about a man couldn’t forget a woman who left him but praying for having her again. From previous ballad song, they showed a soft gentle rap lines but the powerful and appealing rap line is definitely notable in this track. Moreover, Hyun Sik, a member of BTOB has participated as a lyricist, composer and arranger, and Min Hyuk, Peniel, Il Hoon also wrote the lyrics together showed off their talents as an artist. The music video is set in the future devastated city, you can see the scene of members trying to get their lover back and member’s understated group performance will be also one of the impressive scenes. Furthermore, Elkie, a member of CLC (CUBE Entertainment), will play a cameo role at the music video supporting for BTOB’s new album.
The first track, ‘NEW MEN’ is also written by Hyun Sik himself, and is a trap/dance music combined with rock sound, which would be enough to show off BTOB’s new men style. ‘Love drunk‘ is a hip-hop/R&B music tells about the story of a man still thinking about a woman over time, it’s well harmonized with vocal and rap lines of BTOB. The third track, ‘I'm bored’ is an R&B song, referring people today who have feelings of isolation and loneliness, and wants to escape from the boredom of their everyday life. Interestingly, there you may find a real yawning sound and a whistle sound on both intro and outro part which makes listeners to imagine about the song. The song ‘Yes I am’ is combined with seven members’ voices, and the lyrics contains a message that don’t forget about the memories of a beautiful years spent and make promise of being together for the rest of the life, which could be a heal song for someone or a proposal song for others. You also can hear the acoustic guitar sound underlying on the whole song, strong drum sound and the backup vocal lines with full harmonization delivers the emotion of lyrics more effectively. ‘Come on over’ is written by Il Hoon, a member of BTOB, participated in writing lyrics, music, and arrangement. The song is a dance music composed with house rhythm and will keep you energized. The last track ‘Melody song(YEJIAPSA)’, which means ‘I loved you in the past, I love you now and I'm going to love you in the future’ and a new word coined by BTOB thinking of their fans, is a fan song and its lyrics are written as a letter with love and thanks to the whole fans from all seven members.

돌아온 아홉 번째 미니앨범 [NEW MEN]
2016년 봄, 여덟 번째 미니앨범의 타이틀곡 ‘봄날의 기억’으로 감성 가득한 봄을 물들이며 ‘힐링돌’로 자리매김했던 비투비가 7개월만에 아홉 번째 미니앨범 [NEW MEN]으로 돌아왔다. 특히, 이번 앨범의 타이틀 곡인 ‘기도(I’ll be your man)’는 그 동안 볼 수 없었던 비투비의 파격적이면서도 새로운 매력을 한껏 느낄 수 있는 곡이다. 특히 이번에는 일곱 명의 멤버 전원이 수록된 전곡에 참여하는 등 많은 열정과 정성을 쏟아 부은 앨범이다. 또한 멤버들의 팬들을 향한 사랑을 담은 팬송 ’예지앞사’도 수록되어있어 더욱 더 기대가 되는 앨범이다.
타이틀 곡 ‘기도(I’ll be your man)’는 트랩요소가 결합된 감성적인 댄스 곡으로 그 동안 발라드로 보여줬던 비투비의 모습과는 다른 새로운 남자로 변신한 섹시한 비투비의 매력을 보여주는 곡이다. 떠나간 그녀를 잊지 못해 다시 그녀의 남자가 되길 간절히 바라는 기도를 표현한 곡이며 이전의 발라드에서는 부드러운 랩을 보여줬지만 이번 곡에선 감성적이지만 파워풀하고 호소력 짙은 랩퍼라인의 랩이 돋보인다. 또한 멤버 임현식이 작사-작곡-편곡에, 이민혁, 프니엘, 정일훈이 작사에 참여하며 아티스트로의 면모를 과시했다. 폐허가 된 미래도시를 배경으로 사랑하는 그녀를 되찾으려 고군분투하는 멤버들의 모습과 절제미가 돋보이는 군무씬이 인상적인 이번 뮤직비디오에는 같은 소속 CLC의 엘키가 우정 출연하며 지원사격에 나섰다.
앨범의 첫 번째 트랙 ‘NEW MEN’은 타이틀 곡과 더불어 멤버 임현식이 작사-작곡-편곡 모두 참여한 곡으로, 록 사운드요소가 결합된 트랩/댄스곡으로 새로운 남자로 다시 태어난 비투비의 모습을 보여주기 충분한 곡이다. 시간이 흘러도 잊지 못하는 한 여자에 대한 이야기를 담은 곡 ‘취해’는 힙합 스타일의 R&B곡으로 비투비의 보컬과 랩이 절묘하게 조화를 이루는 곡이다. 세 번째 트랙인 ‘무료해(콕 to Me)’는 현실의 지루한 일상을 벗어나고 싶어하며 주위 사람들의 관심이 간절한 외로운 현대인들의 모습을 “콕 to Me”라는 위트 있는 가사로 빗대어 표현한 R&B 곡이다. 곡의 인트로와 아웃트로의 리얼한 하품 소리와 후렴구의 휘파람 소리는 리스너들의 상상력을 이끌어내어 듣는 재미가 느껴지게 한다. 일곱 멤버의 목소리가 어우러진 ‘Yes I am’은 가슴이 벅차고 잊을 수 없던 그날의 추억들을 떠올리며 좋았던 순간들을 잊지 말고 평생 함께하자는 내용의 가사로 누군가에는 힐링송이, 또 어떤 사람에게는 프로포즈송이 될 수 있는 곡이다. 곡 전반적으로 깔려있는 어쿠스틱 기타 사운드와 웅장한 드럼, 그리고 풍성한 코러스 라인들이 어우러져 가사의 감동을 한층 더 돋보이게 전달한다. 멤버 정일훈이 작사-작곡-편곡에 모두 참여한 비투비만의 비글미가 넘치는 곡 ‘놀러와’는 희망찬 가사로 어깨를 들썩이게 하는 하우스 리듬의 댄스곡이다. 마지막 트랙 ‘예지앞사’는 ‘예전에도 지금도 앞으로도 사랑해’라는 의미를 담아 비투비가 팬들을 위해 만든 신조어로 멤버 일곱 명 전원이 팬들을 향한 고마움과 사랑을 담아 편지를 쓰듯 가사를 써서 만든 팬송이다.
