这张专辑的名称是NOFX文字游戏的开始，因为Liberal Animation就是Animal Liberation（解放动物）。这也是NOFX在朋克名厂Epitaph旗下发表的首张专辑，制作人是著名Hardcore乐队Bad Religion的吉他手Brett Gurewitz，同时他也是Epitaph的老板。NOFX与Brett Gurewitz在1988年的夏天只花了3天的时间就录完了这张Liberal Animation，之后NOFX就与Epitaph签署了唱片合同。谁知道他们合作的开始竟然如此失
