So it's twilight in our town

And every night the sun goes down

A little earlier

The air gets heavier and colder

I reckon know it's been a while

Since all the summer guests arrived

And left it's been so calm and quiet

And people's got their usual styles

The restaurants are empty

Like ruins down the shore line

And you've taken the boat up

It is resting under roof now

When the colder winds are sneaking in

The dancing hall is big and neat

It misses all those summer feet

The only person left

Is a real old man from Germany

He will dance alone tonight

And I know what that feels like

Everybody's lost someone

And the City Hotel gets quite dull

And I don't wanna go there

'Cause everybody knows me

And the only one I really wanna meet

Has left this city

For bigger lights and subway trains

For subway trains

I can't help wondering how you've been

I try not to but you sneak in

I bet you've got some pretty girl

Whose walking right beside you

And everything's the same down here

It's just another atmosphere

They've closen down the Tourist shop

That old lady won't give up

And I guess you're coming back soon

When spring will melt the ices

And that old boat is dying to dive in
