Automatic Mama

Automatic Mama - Stryker/Don Gibson

I filled the house with gadgets so you'd never have to slave

And now you're out two-timing me with time I helped you save

The place is full of buttons that you push for every chore

But when you push your pop around you won't push anymore

Automatic Mama you operate too fast

Slow down you'll wind up with your heart in a cast

Automatic Mama be careful what you do

Those new contraptions will be the death of you

I bought a handy gadget that leaves dishes high and dry

And keeps your hands like velvet for some other lucky guy

I found another gadget to speed up the kitchen stove

Now papa knows what's cooking and he's burning while you rove

Automatic Mama you operate too fast

Slow down you'll wind up with your heart in a cast

Automatic Mama be careful what you do

Those new contraptions will be the death of you

That new electric washer made your headaches disappear

You used to hang out washing now you hang out drinking beer

Your fancy vacuum cleaner picks up dirt the easy way

But I picked up some dirt myself here's all I got to say

Automatic Mama you operate too fast

Slow down you'll wind up with your heart in a cast

Automatic Mama be careful what you do

Those new contraptions will be the death of you
