Soluna Samay

Soluna Samay is not just another upcoming singer/songwriter with an acoustic guitar and pretty voice. At just 21 years old she has been a performer far longer than most musicians twice her age. With over 15 years of live performance behind her, Soluna's musical ability is second to none. Listening to her gravelly but lustrous voice you would expect someone much older than her 21 years suggest. Soluna's diverse music influences from The Beatles to Britney Spears, give her music a refreshing new sound – a blend she likes to call gypsy pop. While listening to Soluna's music one has no choice but to get drawn into her universe of insightful lyrics, reflecting the angst, innocence and optimistic hope of teenage love that speaks directly to the heart of anyone who has ever been in love. Born in Guatemala, to a free spirited family with a streetmusician father and artisan mother, Soluna grew up on the road, travelling all over Europe in the family's funky campervan, jamming along with her one-man-band father. Quickly discovering a passion for music in his daughter, Soluna's father taught her how to play the drums and bass, marking the start of her musical career. At age 10 Soluna began writing songs on guitar. Just 11 years later, on September 23rd 2011, Soluna released her debut album.
