Imperial Age

IMPERIAL AGE is a Russian symphonic metal band from Moscow founded in 2010. The band plays heavy metal with an extensive use of academic choirs and symphonic orchestras - where Therion meets Nightwish, Rhapsody, Manowar and Avantasia. The band has a strong concept that can be seen, heard and felt throughout their music, lyrics and visual imagery.   Permanent members: Aor - vocals, music Corn - keyboards Serj Mordashov - Guitar   Session musicians: Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY OF FIRE) - vocals Darius "Daray" Brzozowski (DIMMU BORGIR, VADER, VESANIA) - drums   IMPERIAL AGE is a Russian symphonic metal band from Moscow founded in 2010. The band plays heavy metal with an extensive use of academic choirs and symphonic orchestras - where Therion meets Nightwish, Rhapsody, Manowar and Avantasia.   All the idea, music composing and visual design belong to the only founding member Aor, who is also the lead singer of the band. Eventually started as a solo project with session players, today IMPERIAL AGE has a permanent line up strengthened with internationally famous guest musicians.   The lyrical themes of the band deal mostly with the Western, Northern and Estern occult traditions as well as the legacy of prehistoric empires such as Atlantis, Hyperborea and Lemuria.   The first album "Turn The Sun Off!" was recorded in 2010-2012 with many both locally and internationally famous Russian musicians (for example Vladimir Wolf of ARKONA) as guests, and was released on the band's own label and received positive critical acclaim worldwide.   The second album "Warrior Race" is being finished at this moment, featuring special guests - Fabio Lione of RHAPSODY on additional vocals and  Darius "Daray" Brzozowski of DIMMU BORGIR on drums. The band is widely using symphonic orchestras and academic choirs on both albums.   Some of the recording as well as all of the mixing and mastering is being done by the band's manager Alessandro Azzali (Alpha Omega Management, Italy) at Como Studio (ANCIENT, ANGRA, SEPTIC FLESH etc.). "Warrior Race" is due finished by the end of march 2014.   The artwork for both albums was accomplished by world-famous artist Jan Yrlund (MANOWAR, KORPIKLAANI, TYR, IMPALED NAZARENE etc.)   In 2013 IMPERIAL AGE performed with PARADISE LOST, EPICA, OOMPH!, FINNTROLL and TRISTANIA in Moscow and St.Petersburg. The band also performed two successfull big (venue cap 1000) solo shows in Moscow and one in St Petersburg with a live choir and orchestra and toured other Russian cities, such as Ivanovo and Kazan.
