Mishka

Biography Born to a Bermudan father and Nova Scotian mother, Mishka spent his childhood on his parents' yacht sailing around the Caribbean along with his sister, Heather, aka Heather Nova, subsequently attending school in Canada. In 1991 and 1992 he represented Bermuda in the windsurfing world championships, before concentrating on his music career In 1996 his demo of "Give You All The Love" led to Alan McGee (who had heard him while holidaying in the Caribbean) signing Mishka to his Creation label the following year, releasing the track as a single in 1999 and with a self-titled debut album following the same year. "Give You All The Love" reached #34 in the UK Singles Chart and was also a hit in Japan. Mishka supported Lee Perry on his 1999 European tour, and has continued to record and tour. In 2006 he signed to Matthew McConaughey's j.k. livin' label, and his latest album Above the Bones is the first release on the label. In 2009, Mishka toured alongside the likes of Xavier Rudd and Birds of Wales throughout North America, including at the 2009 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
