Straw Lim

Straw 林水草是来自马来西亚的另类民谣唱作歌手。近期推出的单曲试图透过音乐唱谈社会议题。2019 年，她带着与 Dae Kim 共同制作的首张创作专辑《漫游》到西马和台湾巡演，分享背包旅行的心得与故事。周游了将近 50 个国家的她，最终选择在沙巴亚庇扎根，探讨艺术在环境和社运中的角色，并筹备第二张专辑。 在学生时期与乐团 Astrawnomi 完成《你看不见的》私房 EP 后，她到英国深造修读互动媒体设计。毕业后在非营利组织从事设计工作，并于 2019 年回归音乐。曾在马来西亚和台湾各大小城市巡演，也曾受邀到澳门演出。参与的音乐节包括《城市巨响》、《Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival》《Rantai Art Festival》、《RIUH in the City》等。 Straw Lim is a Malaysian alternative folk singer-songwriter. Back with her latest singles, Straw attempts to address social issues through songwriting. In 2019, she released her debut album “Excursion” – a collection of songs inspired by her backpacking trips, produced alongside Dae Kim. Having travelled close to 50 countries, she concluded that her home, Malaysia is the best place for her to be. Currently based in Kota Kinabalu, she explores the role of art in the environment and activism, while composing her second album. Shortly after the release of “Straw’s Demo”, an EP produced at home with her previous band, Astrawnomi, she went abroad to further her studies. Upon graduation, she worked full time as a multimedia designer in a non-profit organisation while producing “Excursion”. Straw has toured in West Malaysia and Taiwan, and was also invited to perform in Macau. She was featured in local festivals such as Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival, City Roars Festival, Rantai Art Festival, RIUH in the City, and more.
